In 1988, twenty years after the submarine USS Snapper mysteriously sank, a crewman's son asks newsman David Evans of the New York Chronicle to find out what really happened.  As his investigation raises more questions than answers, Evans faces opposition from the Navy and scrutiny from the KGB, who have
